Fred's music performance career started at the age of seven, singing in front of church congregations. When signing up for band, he stated the desire to play drums or trumpet. There were already too many drummers, so trumpet it was. After playing trumpet for four years, then bass guitar for three years, he felt drawn to the drumset and made the switch. After playing in local rock bands, Fred decided to learn more about music and was accepted into one of the finest and most prestigious music schools in the world, Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachussets.
Fred remembers, "The friendly competitive nature of the students from around the world at Berklee drove me even more to better myself as a musician. The teachers are, of course, phenomenal, and all world class musicians. I fell in love with orchestral music as a result of my music history courses. This gave me an insatiable hunger to learn the inner workings of music, and to apply those concepts to my own musical expressions. So I chose to study Classical Composition. I've written and recorded pieces for piano, chamber ensembles, voice, full orchestra and other combinations.
All throughout Fred has kept busy performing with various types of bands, appearing on TV, radio, and in live settings all over the country.
