About Me

Phil started his musical career at age two. At age three Phil played "taps" on a bugle on his front porch when President John F. Kennedy was assassianated and has been playing music since.

At age ten, Phil was hired to play "taps" for military funerals in Western New York. The following year, he played lead trumpet in the high school band, while he was attending the seventh grade. At age 12, Phil started studying trumpet and classical percussion with members of the Buffalo Philharmonic.

He joined the American Federation of Musicians Local #106 Niagara Falls, New York at age 13 and started booking weddings, parties, and casuals, including handling the contracts and hiring all the muscians. Phil continued to work professionally throughtout his High School years.

 From 1978 through 1981, Phil attended college at the State University of New York at Buffalo where he double majored in Percussion and Trumpet and Music Performance.

Phil moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1981. Within 6 months he went on a two-year tour throughout the western United States, Alaska and western Canada with a rock band "Firebird", playing percussion, drums, and trumpet six nights a week.

After the tour ended in 1983, Phil dedicated his talents as a professional drummer in Las Vegas showrooms such as, The Sahara, Aladdin, MGM Grand, Ceasar's Palace, Flamingo Hilton, Las Vegas Hilton, Venetian, New York New York, Mirage, Paris, Treasure Island, Riviara, Duns, Land Mark, and the Stardust. Some of the renowned acts he's performed with are The Drifters, The Platters, The Coasters, The Freddie Bell Show, Rich Little, Chuck Berry, The Diamonds, Pete Barbutti, Sonny King, Frankie Randall, Buddy Greco, Lezlie Anders, Shecky Green, Sandy Hackett, Marty Allen & Steve Rossi, Loretta Holloway, and Peter Anthony. Phil also has performed in all the Las Vegas lounges with the likes of the following: The Checkmates, Lucy Lucile, Billy Ray Charles, Jay Ramsey, Denise Clemente, The Steve Long Show, Teddy Lewis, E.P. King, Jonny Leffler, Dave Dalton, and also this years America's Got Talent Winner Michael Grimm.

Besides studio work, Phil has several television credits including: The Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon, The March of Dimes Telethon, and also played drums in a cameo appearance on the television series "Crime Story" and the A&E special, "Lost in Las Vegas".

Most recently, he has played the Congo Showroom at The Sahara Hotel/ Casino, seven nights a week, for the Coasters/The Platters/ The Drifters Show where he has performed over 1,000 shows consecutively without a day off.

Phil Le. has over 48 years of music experience in the Las Vegas area.
