Guitar, Bass
Ian received his first guitar at age 11, after previous musical experience on the violin and saxophone. After 2 years of lessons from Madison, WI, blues legend Bill Roberts, Ian was well-equipped for many musical styles. After being thrust into the role of bass player for a local worship group, exposure as a bass player led to the formation of his first punk band, Four to One. From there, Ian moved onto helping form the nationally touring Christian Rock act Rex Lex. With Rex Lex, Ian received recognition for his high-energy live performance and uncanny accuracy. Ian has also developed a reputation for studio prowess, being dubbed “One-Take Wonder” by Grammy award-winning producer Pete Stewart (TobyMac, Tait). Ian is currently working on new music with Christian Rock forefather Allan Aguirre, and his latest project, Men as Trees Walking. Ian has been teaching lessons for 7 years, and received education in music theory while in college, and while working for a Madison lessons studio. With an innate ability to communicate with youth “on their level,” and an appreciation for many genres of music, Ian is now well-equipped to develop musicians—not just guitar players.
