Hi! I'm Tyler and I'm a professional drummer/teacher. I began taking private drum lessons from Ron Negro (NYC area session drummer/Rock of Ages on broadway/teacher) in High school and continued through college. Immediately after high school graduation, I began taking on private drum students. As I gained more experience and honed my teaching style, I accumulated many more students all over the Hudson Valley. My band was, at the time, gaining increased popularity with cross country tours and a sizeable local following, which helped me to gain a fuller grasp on the instrument. Through all the shows and many students I was teaching, I received an endorsement from the Precision Drum Company.
Through all of this, I’ve remained focused on my goal for the past 15 years: to play and to teach. That’s all. At this point, I’ve been teaching privately for about 12 years. My curriculum focuses on all styles/genres, playing musically, reading music, ear development and music history as well. I am very passionate about my craft and hope to ignite a similar love for music and drumming in my students.

Performing Experience:
5 cross-country tours, three of which I fully booked, and 5 smaller East Coast tours. Over my 15 year career, I’ve played around 550 shows, most of which occurred from 2006-2009. Playing live is what I'm all about, and it's what I hope all my students will aspire to.
Experience Teaching:
Private at home lessons — 2001-present (Many students all over NY, all ages, and all skill levels, many students with whom I've had 5+ years experience, at peak I had 30 private students.)
Music Program at Camp Hillcroft — 2010-2011 (I was in charge of music for ages 8-15. Created a program for two four-week sessions over the course of two summers. Also ran a “School of Rock” and gave private drum lessons at the camp.)
