Having won several guitar and voice competitions including recognition with the National Federation of Music, Swede pursued a Bachelor's Degree in music performance from Arizona State University. He went on to compete in such competitions as the National Guitar Workshop International and the International Convocation at Arizona State University. In 2008 Swede started the record label "Swede's Guitar”, which has produced more than 12 albums. In 2009, Swede began working on a Master's Degree in Humanities at American Public University and graduated with honors in 2011. In 2010 Swede founded the Salt Lake Guitar Ensemble. Swede has taught private and groups classes of all ages and all levels. He is currently working on his Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology.
