About Me

While growing up in the church, I always had my eye fixed on the drummer on stage. Every second would be focused on him, day dreaming I would become him one day. Growing up in the church provided a chance to be able to meet those drummers and hope to become one of them someday. The second I was old enough to join a youth band I put in my application. Thankfully we had a great minister of music who taught me what it means to be a good leader, as well as a great band drummer. Anyone can pick up a pair of sticks and say they are a drummer, but it takes a special talent to be able to fix into a band well. I began to take lessons from Dallas School of Music with Chris Collins after school on Tuesdays. Tuesdays instantly became my favorite day of the week. I would look forward to each lesson, practicing hours at a time during the week so we could quickly move on to the next lesson. After taking lessons with Chris, I began to go on my own path, searching for a band to play in other than worship music, something to put my time into. Sad Cops came along. Just starting up as a young artist, Grayson Hairris asked me to be a part of Sad Cops, and play his first show with him. After we played only two shows, the Dallas observer spotted us, and wrote some very great reviews about our band. We went from playing in our garage to playing at club Dada in just a few shows. Soon Central Track got a hold of our music and posted an article about young talent in the DFW area, and we were third on the list. Soon after that, we received "Best Song of 2015" and number 3 album of 2015 by Central Track. Although I am no longer with Sad Cops, I hope to continue my passion for drums through any means, whether passing on all that I know to students willing to learn, or to go perform again on the big stage. Music is my passion, and I will do everything I can to continue to fuel it.

This man kills it on the drums! I have had the opportunity to be the bass player to match his awesome drum skills at grace point church! He has a lot of knowledge and talent that he can show anyone! Even taught me to drum a little bit! Taylor is where it's at for sure! Connor Briggs wrote on Wed, 01 Jun 2016
