My name is Michael and I have a fresh perspective on teaching piano. I grew up with a life filled with music. I started playing at a very young age and then expanded to violin, bass, drums and others, but piano has always been my primary instrument. As an adult, I received a Bachelor's of Music at Columbia College Chicago in Contemporary Urban Popular Music Performance, Audio Production, and Classical Composition. I then went on to receive a specialist certificate at Berklee College of Music in Music for Film and TV (Film Scoring). My advanced knowledge of Music Theory and Performance provides the basis that allows me to introduce young students to the world of Music. Music, composition, and performance have been huge motivating factors in my life. I would like to teach my students that learning piano is not just about reading notes but understanding the music, and fueling their interests in the arts, As a teacher, this is what I would like to nurture and develop through my lessons with students.
