About Me

Connor, a native of Florida, became dedicated to the piano in his early teenage years, when he won a local concerto competition with the Grieg Piano Concerto. He studied and competed in local competitions, until attending the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he studied with Edmund Battersby. While a student at Indiana, he attended the Aspen, Banff, and Brevard Music Centers in his summers. His sophomore year, he won first prize in the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition, which earned him a recital at Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall. He is currently pursuing a Master's at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he studies with Robert Weirich.

Connor M Recommendation

I teach piano to Connor M at the UMKC Conservatory where he is a Masters student. He studied with very good people at Indiana University, one of the finest music schools in the country. Connor wants to absorb music both intellectually and emotionally, so he studies in a deep way. As we have talked about teaching, I know he would want to share both sides of music with his students. He is very imaginative, so he would address each student from where they are, not from some "typical piano student" way. He is also interested in composing, so he can create exercises or pieces that the student really needs, not just assign something out of a book. I think you will find him an engaging, friendly person interested in YOUR development. Robert Weirich wrote on Thu, 06 Oct 2016
