Or S. (Write Review) New Orleans, LA
I have been playing guitar for almost 20 years. While my main interest is Jazz guitar, I am trained in Country, Jazz, Blues and Rock so I can teach almost any genre of guitar. My approach is teaching through the music that the student likes, I put emphasis on playing by ear, but I'm also knowledgeable in theory and written music which I teach through playing. I make sure that its all about having fun and learning the music.
Or S. has over 10 years of music experience in the New Orleans area.
UNO Jazz Studies - BA candidate (May 2017)
I have privately studied with many teachers both here in America and in Israel. I've learned guitar with Hank Mackey, Dave Mooney and Brian Seeger. In Israel I've learned with Amos Hoffman.
I currently perform in a Jazz trio and an Afrobeat Band in New Orleans called Kumasi. I also play various Jazz gigs around the city.
I have several years experience teaching music. I have spent several summers teaching children ages 6-15 guitar. I have also taught private 1-1 lessons with children and adults of all ages

Or S. - Sweet and passionate (9.00)
"Or S. has a delightful way with people. His sweetness shows in his ever-ready smile and gentle patience as kids ask questions, butt in with interruptions and try their hardest to do what he asks of them. He is usually relaxed, yet his excitement for music and the guitar shine through when he begins talking about recordings he loves, and his commitment to music is obvious when he plays."
Review for Or (10.00)
"Or is a wonderful person and very talented guitarist- he is patient, understanding and open minded. He is especially great with children, but he can teach people of all ages. He has a strong understanding of teaching methods, jazz guitar, theory and note reading. He also teaches according to the needs and song requests of the student. Or is highly recommendable!"
