Thomas L. (Write Review) Atlanta, GA
Thomas knew music was his passion and his life’s work very soon after learning to play the guitar. It was almost immediately that music engulfed his life. Born and raised in Somerville, Massachusetts, he picked guitar up at 12, but soon put it down. About a year later, he started playing again, and was serious about it very soon after. He gained exposure and performance experience by playing events at his high school with his blue/rock band, and attending weekly blues jams at Johnny D’s nightclub in Somerville. When Thomas was 16, he attended Berklee’s Guitar Sessions summer program, and fell in love with the school. The summer after, he attended the Five Week Program through the City Music program, and joined their High School Academy the following September. Being in this program shaped him tremendously, and turned him into the musician and person he is today. He was able to learn so much in the program, and even be granted with opportunities such as performing for Grammy-winning vocalist Lalah Hathaway, or performing for now former MA Gov. Deval Patrick. It was also around this time that his style shifted from mainly blues into R&B, Gospel, and hip-hop. When he graduated High School, Thomas attended the University of Massachusetts for one semester, and then transferred into Berklee. He has studied with some of the top professors in the school, in both private lessons and esteemed ensembles. He has had the opportunity to play the Beantown Jazz Festival, the Newport Folk Festival, and performed for the Isley Brothers and Rita Moreno at Boston University's Agganis Arena. Outside of school, he has had the opportunity to gig in both Boston and New York City, with different bands at nightclubs, bars, concert halls, or churches. Thomas plays primarily for R&B, Hip Hop, and Pop artists, but is open to all styles of music. He has spent the past year as the guitarist and assistant manager for the Nate Bash Band, one of the fastest growing Wedding/general business bands in New England, through which he has been playing constantly in clubs, and functions throughout the region. Whether it be a wedding, session, or other gigs with Boston area artists, Thomas is constantly working on something to make himself better and reach the highest potential he has inside of him. Thomas graduated from Berklee in May of 2016, and now has relocated to Atlanta to begin his professional career.
Thomas L. has over 8 years of music experience in the Atlanta area.
