"I have known John since the fall semester 2009. At this time, I was in my first year at the University of Oklahoma as Director of Choral Activities. John completed his Master of Music in Choral Conducting in 2016. John is a talented and versatile director and a true leader. John is also a gifted teacher and self-motivated individual. John meets all challenges head on and in a professional and positive manner. There was not a day that goes by that John doesn’t arrive at school early, to work on his academic assignments, prepare for a rehearsal or help with the choral area daily tasks. Each week, John was always ready to work and would frequently ask me if there was any tasks that need attention. Throughout his Master of Music degree program at the University of Oklahoma, John has participated in our select ensembles, OU CHORALE, the OU MEN’S GLEE CLUB, CHAMBER SINGERS and UNIVERSITY SINGERS. He was also the assistant director for the CHAMBER SINGERS and UNIVERSITY SINGERS. When at OU, John was one of our top students in the graduate choral area within the School of Music at the University of Oklahoma. John was also selected to participate in the 37th Annual Classical Music Festival located in Eisenstadt, Austria at the Esterhazy Palace. As Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of this international festival, John joined a select group of musicians from many countries rehearsing and performing major works by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. And, throughout the festival John was a leader and a team player. John is a sincere, intelligent, and dedicated individual. We were so fortunate to have had a student like John at our school. I highly recommend John without reservation. I’m confident John will be a positive addition to the Taylor Robinson Music Lessons program."
