Born and raised in Houston, I enjoyed the benefits of an artistically inclined and supportive household. I first started playing piano, like everyone else, at the age of five, and moved on to the violin at the age of seven. At nine, I encountered the first instrument I decided to master: the saxophone. Over the next eight years, I did exactly that.
In 2000, I went to my first, real, "rock show" for my birthday and saw AC/DC. I can honestly say that it was a pivotal moment in my life and changed its trajectory permanently. I knew that regardless of what I chose to do with my life, it was going to involve music in some way. I picked up the guitar soon thereafter.
I went to DePaul University to study Economics, as well as Spanish and Math and started working at the Guitar Center there. This was extremely beneficial as it put me in touch with many of the best musicians in the area, and it was there that I started to learn the minutiae of crafting one's own sound and tone. After college I transferred to the GC in Houston and thereafter joined regional act Navasota Rio for a time until the band's breakup at the end of 2010.
Since then I have begun my own project, tentatively called Mary's Revenge. (Mary being my old band manager's name)
Vicente F. Bl. has been teaching music for over 5 years in the Houston area. Check out his education and experience below.

My performing experience began, in school of course, at the age of nine when I first picked up the saxophone. By the time I got to high school, I was the first chair alto sax and primary soloist. I started performing outside of school at the age of seventeen. My first gig was at the Houston Jewish Community Center, and I then of course went on to play various small clubs in Houston. At this time, I was still primarily a sax player, though I'd recently picked up the guitar. In college, and particularly after I started working at the Guitar Center there, I played with a number of punk, metal, rock, and 60's revival bands though by now I played guitar exclusively and sang some as well.
I toured regionally with the biker rock band for a while Navasota Rio which culminated with our performance at the main stage at the Republic of Texas motorcycle rally in 2010.
I began offering free private guitar lessons in Chicago in 2007 as a way to give back to my community and eventually built a small but dedicated group of students. I then started giving paid beginner lessons as well. After I moved back to Houston in 2009, I gave guitar and bass lessons sporadically to Guitar Center customers who didn't want to drive all the way out to Katy for lessons at GC's sister company Music & Arts.
I started working at Apple Inc. in the middle of 2010 and soon after became an official trainer, a position I still hold. I currently teach and train both employees and customers.
