Hi, my name is Sandi, I officially started drums in 1981 and I am a multi-instrumentalist/ recording artist/ professional musician since 1989. I teach drums, guitar, bass, and ukulele. I am the 2022 Drum set Champion for the Hit like a girl Contest, an international drum set competition for women. For beginner students (1-2 years or less) I recommend 30-minute lessons. Due to Covid please follow all mask and social distance guidelines. My musical influences range from the beginning of American music; jazz, blues, gospel, rock, pop, Motown and soul, world and Afro Cuban music to hip-hop and dance. I have an appreciation for all music. My teaching style can best be described as meeting the student at their level so they can reach their fullest potential time effectively. My teaching philosophy simply is I do not have a cookie-cutter approach but am confident I can meet the student on their level and quickly advance them PROVIDED the student commits to daily independent study (practice) of their music lessons. In my lessons, you can expect to cover basic techniques and then apply these basics to your favorite songs and exercises. I encourage my students to be happy with any progress as it is better than none. My favorite thing about teaching is paying it forward. I primarily teach one on one private lessons, but I can also teach group lessons and rock band classes. My approach as a teacher is to have fun while learning. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
