About Me
Abigail earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory and Composition at Kansas Wesleyan University, where she also studied violin and piano. She has performed in award-winning university orchestras and chamber ensembles, along with top community symphonies. Abigail has been praised not only as a violinist, but also as a composer, with her original compositions and arrangements being performed by youth, university, and community symphony orchestras. Abigail has been teaching violin and viola for over five years, with several students that she began going on to be very successful in youth orchestra programs and music academies. She has taught everything from beginner to intermediate levels, with students ranging from 4 years old through highschool. She is very results-oriented, crafting personalized lesson plans and curriculum to fit the individual student's needs. Abigail also teaching beginner piano and keyboard. Like violin and viola, there is no age limit--only a willingness to learn! Abigail also offers and tutorship in music theory, music history, composition, and song writing. Abigail served as a Teacher's Assistant in university level theory classes, tutoring, teaching, and grading student's work. Abigail has a passion for spreading the love and knowledge of music to others.

What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons

Beginner -

In depth music theory, with focus on composition and songwriting. If desired, the lessons could focus on modern classical compositions, with the end goal to be writing for a band, orchestra, or choir.


What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

One-on-one violin or viola instruction focusing on technique, musicality, and repertoire. Solo performance will be the primary focus, but will also look at the art of ensemble playing, including audition preparation and orchestral repertoire as necessary.


What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Introduction to piano and keyboard proficiency. Lessons will include learning to read music and to follow lead sheet symbols, as well as an introduction to basic music theory. The result will be an introduction to the fundamentals of music that will translate into a well-rounded musical life and the basic skills and techniques necessary for piano performance.

9 years studying violin and 3 years studying piano with private instructors.

Performing Experience:

10+ years in symphonic and chamber string orchestras, string quartets, oratorio, opera, and musical pits, and recital solo work.

Experience Teaching:

Owned and operated a private violin and viola studio for 5 years. Served as a string faculty member for the Kansas Wesleyan University Pre-College program, teaching viola to pre-college students. Worked as an assistant for the Salina Youth Symphony program, leading sectionals, helping individual students, and substituting for the director.
