Duke L. Sp.- (Write Review) Bakersfield, CA
A dynamic singer/songwriter/guitarist of Cherokee descent with a real talent for producing and arranging, Duke began writing songs in his teens. He writes and performs in many styles including rock, blues, folk, adult contemporary, country and even a little “Scotch and cigarettes” jazz. A versatile instrumentalist, he played acoustic and electric guitars, bass, Hammond B-3 organ and acoustic grand piano on the record. Duke began his career while still in high school in the San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles County and has been performing solo and/or as a member of a duo and/or band ever since. His sixty plus (60+) original songs are incredibly diverse and of the highest quality. He is also able to draw from an extensive repertoire of “classics” as needed. His public performances are extremely powerful, for he never holds back, giving his all to those in attendance, no matter what size the audience or venue. His musical influences are far too numerous to list, but it is safe to say that the vast majority of listeners will find a good deal to enjoy in his work. Duke feels that music is, at it’s best, truly spiritual, a “universal language” and is extremely thankful for the all of the “gifts” he has been blessed with. Equally at home on stage or in the studio, he is available as a “hired gun” for other artists and bands as his schedule permits. He also enjoys acting and has worked as an actor, emcee and model in the past and is open to those types of gigs as well.
Duke L. Sp.- has over 40+ years of music experience in the Bakersfield area.
