I have 3 different locations to serve singers in the Dayton Area. All ages and genres of music welcome.Highly qualified voice and piano teacher/performer. I have taught at the university level and worked with all ages and most genres of music. I have a masters degree in vocal pedagogy and performance and 30 years teaching experience. I try to keep current on local and national singing opportunities to pass on to qualified students. Performing is not a must but it is encourages therefor I offer performance classes to work on performance issues outside of just singing. All levels of ability welcome beginner through professional. My philosophy on Singing: I believe in teaching a natural sound and ease of vocal production. I work for greater freedom of your voice through posture breath and relaxation of physical and emotional tensions. I focus on vocal production first then performance skills. How are you coming across to your audience? The student is in charge of what we work on. If their primary concern is building repertoire that is what we do. I make suggestions based on what I see and hear but always put the students wishes first. I do have experience working with troubled voices helping to locate and eradicate bad habits. I go for the most natural and easiest to produce sound possible. I have just completed a course in somatic Voicework the Lovetrti Method T which is a new method focusing on commercial music styles. Individual feedback is geared towards the singers level of accomplishment.Feedback is given by the facilitator and the other class members A great way to practice performance.

Joy Is wonderful
Vocal Studio was very instrumental in helping my son Anthony Snell in his musical career. Under the tutelage of Joy, Anthony's learned how to sing and control his voice. Miss helped him to realize that not only could he sing but he had a voice that could adapt to any genre, with an emphasis in classical and Opera music. As a result of this training, Anthony graduated as a Music Major. Before Corona he traveled all over the world to perform. The training has also afforded him the opportunity to perform on stage with the likes of Yolanda Adams, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra/choir and the Czech National Orchestra just to name a few.
