About Me

I have dedicated my life to the joys of fingerstyle guitar performance and the mysteries of music theory.   For children, I believe it's best to make the instrument as fun as possible. The best way to have fun playing an instrument is to do just that - Play! I find that children learn best when every song is boiled down to simple chords so that they can play right along with the music.   For younger and older adults, I will give you the tools necessary to practice more efficiently. These tools include music theory, which are the nuts-and-bolts of music. By understanding the theory, you can practice smarter, not harder.   I am very passionate about fingerstyle and classical guitar, so if you are looking to build you’re picking hand chops, look no further. I also understand all the theory behind each musical genre and will be happy to show you how to properly read and play jazz standards, Blues 12 bars, country chickin' pickin' licks, etc.    Some of my influences include Fingerstyle acoustic virtuosos like Andy Mckee, Antoine Dufour, and John Gomm, as well as fingerstyle classical virtuosos like Andres Segovia, John Williams, and Leo Brouwer. On the electric side of the world, I enjoy shredders like Yngwie Malmsteen, and Paul Gilbert for their unique take on the guitar's instrumental idiom. I also enjoy classic rock guitarists like Lindsay Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac and Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits, as well as some very solid Plectrum players like Jimmy Hendrix, and Randy Rhoads.
