Born and raised in the Charleston area of South Carolina. Began playing guitar at age 13, enrolling in, and taking weekly formal guitar lessons for six years.Through high school played formally and casually with various musicians at school, church, and home. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy from Charleston Southern University, playing in various regular ensembles that offered a range of music from rock, to contemprorary Christian, to classical. While there, I also had weekly classical and jazz guitar lessons and participated in regular master classes, workshops, and group and solo performances for students and faculty of the music school. Four years later, I graduated from Colorado State University with Master of Music degree. Throughout my student and professional career, I have taught individual and group guitar and beginner piano lessons to individuals from ages 6 to 65 across a wide range of of backgrounds and functioning levels. Aside from working professionally as a music therapist and teaching formal lessons, other music experience includes regular performances in various capacities for local gigs and church musical groups. I continue to use music each day in a variety ways to help improve quality of life through therapy, instruction, and entertainment.
