Jackson is a Baltimore, Maryland-based guitarist and composer. He has studied guitar under David Andrews of Westminster, MD, session-guitarist Tom Lawrence of Columbia, MD, guitarist Ernest Douglas of "Soul Prospect", Columbia, MD, and piano/voice under Caren Bezanson of Westminster, MD. Jackson began performing professionally as a freelance guitarist in 2013, after contracting the guitar chair in the house band for an amateur production of Dana P. Rowe and Hugh Dempsey's "Zombie Prom". His other notable theatre credits include Cameron Mackintosh's "Les Misérables", for which he performed the first guitar book, and Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie's "Footloose: The Musical", for which he performed the second guitar book. His credits as Music Director include a children's troupe production of Barbara Lennon and Bill Francoeur's "The Rockin' Tale of Snow White", for an amateur production of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's "Seussical", and for an amateur production of Michael Stewart, Lee Adams, and Charles Strouse's "Bye Bye Birdie" (for which he also served as a rehearsal pianist). In 2014, Jackson performed at the Mad Tea Party Jam 3 music festival in Hedgesville, WV with the band "Interstellar Soul", as a rhythm guitarist for singer-songwriter Ernest Douglas. Jackson was also one of the founding members of the Vancouver, WA-based alternative-rock band, Public Service Announcement (PSA). The band gained a modest following in the underground music circuit of metro-area Portland and its surrounding counties before calling a temporary working hiatus following JT's relocation to Maryland. Jackson currently studies Jazz & Contemporary Music and Theatre in rural Maryland, preferring the quiet atmosphere of the country side for composing his works and thoughts. Jackson has embarked on the task of obtaining his Bachelor of Music degree in guitar performance, composition, and jazz studies. He hopes to keep expanding his creative résumé and relevant experiences while attending university. He currently lives and performs in Baltimore, MD and its surrounding counties.
Jackson M. has over 11 years of music experience in the Reisterstown area.
