From a young age, Matt has been heavily involved with music. Starting with a background in drums and percussion, he found a love and passion for playing electric and upright bass. Matt is currently a junior at Youngstown State University where he studies Bass Performance in Jazz with Dr. David Morgan. Through his high school band teachers, Matt also found a love for sharing music with others, as well as a love for teaching. Matt Actively performs with the YSU Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combos, YSU, Dana Symphony Orchestra, YSYO, Youngstown Scoring Stage, and is an active session musician
