About Me

I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio my whole life. Have been playing in bands since I was a freshmen in high school. I was a part of my high school marching band's drum line under the instruction of Rob Ferguson. Then went on to march one summer of DCI with the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps. My musical influences for drum set consist of players like Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Neil Peart, Jon Bonham, Keith Moon, etc. When I instruct beginner students, I always start with the basics of how to hold a stick and how the mechanics work between the stick and their hands. Once we get past that, I expect students to take whatever we worked on in lessons and work on it at home, so that I can show them something new for them to work on at the next lesson. That way they're learning how to teach and critique themselves even when I'm not around.

Performing Experience:

Four years of high school marching band, one season of marching DCI with Glassmen, three seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers Q-Stix, and six years of performing at various venues around the country.

Experience Teaching:

I was assistant band director for Buchtel High School, the drum line instructor for Nordonia High School and Waterloo High Schoo,l and have assisted instructing the Firestone, New Philadelphia, and Marion Harding High School marching bands.
