My name is Donal, I'm 25, and I recently moved to Chicago from Cork, Ireland. In 2016 I graduated with a 1st class honors BMus degree from the CIT Cork School Music, with violin as my primary instrument. I've been playing the violin since I was 3 years age and I've been teaching since I was 16. I have taught students all ages and abilities, and am happy to work with anyone, whether they aim to be a professional musician just want to play for fun!

What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
After establishing what a student wants to get from our lessons, we will work together towards meeting those goals. I try to incorporate everything from technique and listening skills right through to music history. All I ask from my students is that they ensure to practice between lessons, so that we can progress and enjoy playing together each week!
Formal Education:
Graduated from the CIT Cork School Music in 2016 with a 1st class honors degree. Previously, I completed my 8 grades in the Cork School Music.
Performing Experience:
I have performed extensively as a soloist and as a chamber musician. I also have a passion for orchestral playing, and have performed with the National Symphony Orchestra Ireland as well as the Irish Chamber Orchestra.
Experience Teaching:
I've taught students across all range abilities since I was 16. Most my students sat the ABRSM exams, but I have worked with other exam boards as well. I also have experience teaching musicianship and theory, both in a classroom environment and in a one-to-one setting.
