About Me

My name is Cole, I recently graduated from James Madison University as a Biology Major, but my true passion is playing and writing music. I have been a part/leader of 3 bands. Two of which have played, collectively, over 100 shows. I have released an EP, and several self recorded demos for my most recent group Coy Pond, all of which were written and composed mostly by myself. I have been playing guitar since I was about 13 years old and can also loosely play a myriad of different instruments (bass, drums, piano, mandolin, etc.). I've been writing song since I was about 17 years old, and have written a little 100 songs since that time, including a theme for a TV show.

Formal Education:

I have not had too much formal education, I am mostly self taught, but I am savvy enough with guitar and song writing to teach new students. I have taken three introductory level music theory classes.

Performing Experience:

I have been performing for over three years as a guitarist and lead singer of all bands I have been a part of. I recently just got off a tour with my current band, Coy Pond. I have played two college festivals, one at Radford and Madipalooza at JMU, and won the JMU battle of the bands in 2016.

Experience Teaching:

I am quite capable of teaching introductory level students, young adults and children, especially when it comes to song writing.
