I love creativity. I'm interested in music therapy. I've taught cello, piano, and violin for several years. I am in the Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony Orchestra and am soon auditioning for the WSO. I also love to garden and am interested in sustainability and environmental issues.

What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons

Similar to the string lessons, I would start the lesson with a scale fingering of a certain key followed by the improvisational method. Following that warm-up, will practice whatever style of music the student is interested in learning. will work on technique and musicality as problems arise.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons

I will use the same improvisation method for scales at the beginning of each lesson. Following this, will practice whatever genre of music the student is interested in learning and work on technique and musicality. I've taught cello, violin, and viola for several years.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
-
Students will start learning how to improvise. I use a specific method I've created in order to learn all the different scales in each key signature. At the beginning of the lessons, will work on this. I will also have them repeat things that I play to give them ideas. ( learn by imitation). Depending on how the student works best, may either continue until a song is written or work on writing lyrics by studying poetry and other literature or talking about ideas.
