About Me

I began playing music by learning basic chords and classic rock licks. Shortly thereafter learned theory and started studying folk music and chord progressions. I use folk as a vague umbrella term. encompassing roots music, rock, blues, country and western, bluegrass, and world music. Then I learned jazz.and sight reading. I have now progressed to learning more classical music and arranging pieces for solo guitar.

As a teacher, I will focus on playing, teaching chords, scales, how to read tablature, chord charts, and even sheet music. As well I can provide musical history and anecdotes. I can also focus on teaching song-writing and structure, for those interested.
