About Me
I am a pianist, composer and teacher with bachelors and masters degrees in piano performance from Brigham Young University. I plan to pursue a doctorate in music composition in the near future. I currently teach piano in the afternoons Monday-Thursday at the Utah Piano Conservatory in Orem, Utah as well as at home.
Christopher M. has over 6 years of music experience in the Provo area.

I will focus on technique, repertoire and sight-reading. The first ten minutes of each lesson will be dedicated to technique (scales, arpeggios, chords, etc.-dependent on the student's level, as well as Hanon exercises). Then I will work with the student on their lesson books (series such as Piano Adventures) and help them to pass off pieces with a high degree of proficiency. Finally I will coach them on their memorized repertoire piece or pieces. This will include everything from practice and memorization techniques to musicianship and expression.

Performing Experience:
In addition to various school performances (an all-Chopin recital in 2010, my three solo recitals in 2012, 2013 and 2016, the concerto competition in 2014, and many chamber music performances), I have participated in the Marrowstone Summer Music and Brevard Music Festival, where I performed as keyboardist in various orchestral and chamber pieces.

I've taught privately since 2011. I also taught private students as well as group piano classes during my Master’s Degree from 2013 to 2016.
