Music is my passion! I studied contemporary and classical vocal performance, contemporary guitar performance, and music business in college. I have an appreciation for all music from classical to punk to country to metal! I have extensive performance experience from being in cover bands, performing my original music, and choirs. I teach children to adults. I engage the students in learning while having fun, and I am very patient, and love to teach.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner -

Learn the basics, including how to start reading music, and learning how to practice effectively and efficiently, and play songs and exercises from beginner levels up to an intermediate level.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner -

Students can expect to learn how to sit and hold the guitar, use the pick with the right hand, and finger the notes with the left. Learn how to start reading music and guitar tablature, start strumming basic chords, and learn beginner songs and exercises, so we can work up to more challenging ones. Learn basics so you can start writing your own songs if you like, and learn how to practice.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner -

Students can expect to learn how we sing, correct posture, breathing, breath control, melody, start to learn how to read music, pitch matching, scales, and how to practice. Learn how to correctly warm-up for healthy singing, and we will start with beginner songs and exercises and work our way up to more challenging ones.

Formal Education:

B.A. in Music Business from McNally Smith College of Music with a minor in Vocal Performance. A.A.S in Music with a concentration in Vocal and Guitar Performance from Lake Michigan College.

Private Education:

7 years private guitar lessons. 7 years private vocal lessons.
