Katie can play six instruments; with double French horn being her primary, she can also play single French horn, mellophone, valve trombone, baritone/euphonium, and piano and gives lessons for all of these. She has been in concert band and choir since fifth grade, jazz band since eighth grade, and jazz choir since ninth grade. Currently, Katie is attending North Central College and is majoring in Jazz Studies and Theatre with a minor in Studio Art. Katie is passionate about making music and helping people. She has quite a sunny disposition, has been told that she is too happy, and is always smiling.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner -
If you take half hour lessons, my expectation is that you practice a half hour per day. If you take hour lessons, my expectation is that you practice an hour per day. In the lesson, please come prepared and with a pencil. I will be using The Music Tree Series and/or Keyboard Musician For the Adult Beginner, depending on the student's skill level. Each lesson, we will start with one or several five-finger positions, or pentachords, then move on to the lesson or the solo/duet of the day. Once acquainted with the piano, I will have the student pick out a piece that (s)he would like to work on with me. We then will add that to the to do list of their lesson.
