Hello! My name is Jonathan and I am a graduate student at Northern Ilinois University. My main instrument is the saxophone, but I also double on flute and clarinet. I received my undergraduate degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in classical saxophone performance. While there, I was able to play with numerous groups and was lucky enough to travel and play my saxophone. Some of the travels I have seen are, Baltimore, Maryland, Memphis, Tennessee, and Chicago, Illinois, where I played at Buddy Guy's esteemed club, "Legends." In addition to the travels, I have been featured with my undergraduate wind ensemble. I was able to tour the Midwest as their featured soloist. I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach and get to know you through the wonderful experience of music. Sign up for a lesson today and let's get started!
Jonathan D. has over 4 years of music experience in the DeKalb area.

What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
The first goal that I have for any student I come across is to HAVE FUN. Music is fun and gives people joy! Within a lesson, we will work on technique development such as scales, arpeggios, and differing exercises. We will also work on tone development and intonation. All of these things are important to becoming the best musician you can be and I have a few ways of making it fun as well! If you would like to study classically, we will work on classical saxophone works together. If you are more into jazz or blues, we will study solos and songs of those eras. If you want to work on both, that's great too! Like I said at the beginning, my main goal is to have fun and that's what I plan to do with you!
