I became interested in music when I was around 7 years old. I had two uncles that played guitar/banjo and another who was a music promoter. I would love to sing along when they played and was fascinated by their ability to play an instrument. I took my first guitar lesson when I was 12 and my lifetime love and pursuit of playing music officially began. A short time later I convinced my parents to let me get a set of drums. I started to learn mainly by ear, playing along to my favorite music. Soon after, I took some lessons and I was off and running. I played throughout high school in the band program marching, jazz & orchestra and picked up the bass guitar along the way, playing bass in the jazz band my final year. Fast forward to today. At the age of 53, I have been playing music professionally for most of my adult life. I have played in numerous bands as a drummer and lead vocalist and I developed a solo acoustic act guitar/vocals about 8 years ago that I currently perform around the metro area. While I have no previous teaching experience, I feel I could provide the beginning student a solid foundation on which to build their own lifetime love for playing music. My musical tastes are wide and varied, from rock to jazz, funk to reggae and even to the pop hits of today.
