Melvin B.

Melvin has been surrounded by music for his entire life growing up in the Christian church. He is from a family of traditional gospel and soul music vocalists. He has sung in church choir since the age of 8 years old. He was shyer in his youth, but he began to branch out more in high school studying opera with the local Opera Theatre of St. Louis. He won two 1st place awards through the Opera Theatre company while he also directed and taught the youth choir at his family church "Voice of God Ministries". Melvin also won a 1st in the All-tech Vocal Competition at the University of Kentucky, and Bellermine University in Tennessee. Melvin just finished the 2 Sarasota Opera Season as an apprentice artist and was an award winning artist. He is very passionate about vocal music and has experience teaching a very fundamental technique of healthy singing that fits all styles.
