Learning the fundamental techniques to playing the drums, while also having a high emphasis on learning to read the music we play. Instead of learning just fills and beats on the kit, we will go into the big picture techniques and ideas of them to learn how to make our own grooves and melodies on the drumset. And most importantly, learning to play do all of that with a metronome.

Most of my knowledge of piano is through Jazz theory and applying it to the keys, so I would work on teaching scales and chords in both hands, and learning about the theory behind each scale and chord. Fingerings and technique would also be a big focus, as they are vital to efficient piano playing.

Students will learn the importance of technique and details of each instrument. Whether it be keyboard, accessories, timpani, bass drum, snare drum, etc, we will go over them in depth and learn the proper individual techniques for each. Snare drum technique will cover doing rolls, playing at all dynamics, playing solos, rudiments, eventually excerpts, and of course playing with a metronome. Keyboard will include both 2 and 4 mallet techniques, playing scales, chords, and solos, while discussing dynamics, melody, and phrasing.
