About Me

I started playing percussion at the age of 11 in elementary school and at the age of 12 I started getting lessons on the drum set. I took private lessons for 3 years under the instruction of Tom Frost from deconstruct and another guy named Phillip who is a jazz drummer. As a freshman in high school I started playing in the drum corps for Oakmont under the instruction of two stellar former D.C. percussionists by the names of Jerry Stewart and Chris baker both of which were taught by Scott Johnson of the Blue Devils. I was under their instruction for all four years in high school bringing my private instruction to a total of 6 years. I have had lots of experience playing marching snare and marching bass drum and have encompassed a thorough knowledge of all rudiments and rudimentary style drumming abroad. I also played in the Oakmont Symphonic band on instruments ranging from timpani's, marimbas, concert snare, bongos, concert bass, and learned all the basic to advanced techniques of playing them. All the while I have learned all the basic to advanced methods of reading and composing rhythm notation and how to teach it. Throughout high school I played in numerous bands all ranging from blues, progressive rock, rockabilly/psychobilly, ska, punk, Thrash, Death Metal, and am currently in a progressive fusion band. The past three years I have been studying funk and jazz and am studying jazz at sierra college under the instruction of Greg McLoughlin. I am currently 23 and teaching lessons to a handful of students on my own time.

7 years performing various styles from: Latin, Blues, Jazz, Funk, Metal, Progressive Rock, Punk, Rockabilly.

4 years Performing orchestrally: all percussion instruments: timpani, marimba, timbale, concert snare, concert bass drum, and auxiliary percussion.

4 years performing in drum corps: marching snare, marching tenor, marching bass drum.

Experience Teaching:

4 years teaching student from beginning to advanced on an array of different topics from: performance, composition, improvisation, sight reading, technique, e.t.c. I have done this in studio and out of my home
