About Me

I am a pro musician/singer/songwriter piano/keyboardist/acoustic guitar performing professionally since 1983 in restaurants/hotels/country clubs and the like for private and public events. Originally from Philadelphia, have played largely in the Lehigh Valley and beyond including Philly and NYC extensively and surrounding counties. I am a SAG/AFTRA actor as well and have done theatre since high school starring in musical theatre and plays. I bring my combined theatre and musical performing experience to my vocal coaching and therefore have a unique process based on "freeing the natural voice" with vocal exercises and warmups--I also treat the song as "an acting piece" and stress the lyrics and how to relate them to an audience. This takes the pressure off of the singer trying to be too "technical" in hitting notes as it is more about conveying the story of the song--and from this organic process a more powerful performance can be realized. I look forward to sharing my experiences that seek to make singers at any level more capable of understanding their unique instrument and how to utilize it in professional settings to move and entertain an audience or for recording in the studio as well.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

I combine my theatrical and performance experience as a singer/musician to raise the confidence level of the student so they can perform at a professional level. I incorporate vocal relaxation techniques and warmups so that they can better access and "free the natural voice". Singing is about conveying the message of the song in a heartfelt manner so they student must be unencumbered from stress and anxiety--not self-concious--so they can access their true instrument and move or entertain an audience--or make it work for a studio recording.
