About Me

Hi, my name is Shealene and I am a violinist from Bucks County, PA. I have been a student of music for nearly 10 years. Beyond classical tradition, some of my influences include orchestrated film and video game soundtracks as well as other instrumental works. I enjoy anything with a memorable melody and good harmony. Some of my favorite composers include J.S Bach, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Prokofiev, John Williams, and Kataoka Manaka. Among my favorite violinists are Jascha Heifetz, Sayaka Shoji, Sarah Chang, Julia Fischer, and David Kim. My teaching style can best be described as one focused on creating good sound through solid technical foundation. With classical tradition as a base for both technique and musicality, I want students to enjoy playing the violin as a form of self expression. I believe that anyone can learn, young or old, beginner or experienced in other musical areas. Though I primarily teach classical repertoire, I'm always willing to help students branch out to other music as well. My goal as a teacher is to make learning the violin an enjoyable experience for everyone in a relaxed environment. Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I hope to meet you soon!
