Simon began playing at the age of 12 years old. Over the years, he developed his skills further by taking guitar lessons and taking music theory classes at Texas State University, He gained performance experience by playing at such venues as Fitzgerald's, Molly's Pub, The White Swan, and Arcadia. Though Simon can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are Rock, Blues, Country and bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrix, Mars Volta, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Tim McGraw, which had great influence on his style of playing. Simon loves music because it is a way to express himself, and it is his greatest passion in life. Simon loves teaching music because he enjoys watching his students learn an instrument, and see them evolve their musical skills.
