Hi, my name is Jachai and I am a violist/violinist from Atlanta, GA. I have been a student of music for 11 years. My musical influences include Julia Fischer, Leonidas Kavakos, Yuri Bashmet, Paul Murphy, Pauline Sachase and Stephanie Sant'Ambrogio. I also enjoy Romantic era, Early 20th century era and Modern era music. My teaching style can best be described as relaxed whilst including strict awareness to the student. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I measure potential by dedication, efficiency, and disciple. In my lessons, you can expect to learn scales systems, etudes, solo repertoire, duets, as well as some orchestral excerpts and other pieces or songs the student may suggest. I like to tell my students to always find the bop in a piece, There is always a way you can settle into a difficult piece. Lastly, always have a firm set up but never tense. My favourite thing about teaching is seeing a student glow with joy when he or she is able to delve into the music and not be afraid to make mistakes. I primarily teach viola, but I can also teach violin. My approach as a teacher is to acknowledge all improvement and provide useful strategies to practice, improvise, perform and have fun.
