About Me

My Name is Rollie. I currently hold an MA in music with an emphasis in EC-12 Education from Texas Woman's University. I currently work as a substitute teacher and part-time online ESL English teacher. I am well-versed in theories of education, learning styles, motivation in the classroom, and effective teaching strategies. I am knowledgeable in music history, world music, composition, music theory, choral arrangement, piano techniques, vocal training, lesson planning, etc. I am an Army Veteran Noncommissioned Officer with Drill Instructor experience. Voice students can expect to improve week to week in their vocal technique. Every voice has a unique timbre; I teach students to release built up tension and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual sound. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression. My personal passion is contemporary music, but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!
