Zack began playing guitar at the age of 14. Over the years, he developed his skills further by obtaining his BA in vocal music. He gained performance experience in the Cape Girardeau MO area by playing at numerous bars, coffee shops and other venues around the city and university. Though Zack can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are Folk, Classic Rock and Alternative, which had great influence on his style of playing. Zack loves music because it can be used to convey how you are truly feeling and loves teaching music because I want everyone to use it as a way to feel or connect with others. What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
The student and I would map out what message it is we are trying to tell with the song. From there we will find a tempo and construct a chord progersion in order to find a tonal center so we can build a melody. Then we will work lyrics and I can help piece it together so it all flows in a way that pleases the student.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Similar with piano I like to build some music theory foundation and start each lesson with singing scales and other warm-ups I also will develop a plan based on the Genre and what artist the student strives to be like.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
I like to assess what their skill level is and where they would like to end up as a player. I'll take into consideration what artist they want to sound like and try to make lessons to get them to that level
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
When teaching piano I try to incoperate scales and music theory to help the student understand the lay out of the piano. I will also teach chords and inversionsso they can read progressions and play along.
