About Me

Ola has always loved music. Growing up in church, I would run away from to children's church just to watch the drummer in the main church play. I would say that was the start of a journey that has lasted over 20 years and counting. Today, while I decided not to pursue a full-blown career in music, that passion has not dwindled. I have played in several concerts and regularly play in churches. I particularly love gospel drumming because it embellishes elements of different genres of music. I have taught different categories of students; Children, Teenagers and Adults both on group and individual basis over a span of 5 years. I enjoy teaching African rhythms, R&B, Soul and Contemporary Jazz fusion. Whether you are at the beginner to intermediate level, my biggest satisfaction is to work with my students grow musically and achieve their musical goals.

What to expect in my Drum Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

My lessons will always start off with warm-up. Then, we would drum rudiments, stickings and basic drum reading. Afterwards, we spend time learning the application of these rudiments and work with songs where they are applied. My classes are fun but challenging classes but you have to be ready to put in the work required.
