Hi, my name is Philipa. I am a vocalist who is passionate about helping others discover their voice and develop the confidence and skills to perform to the best of their ability. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music at the University of St. Francis in 2015 and have 2 years experience as a choir director. I have also worked as a soloist over the past 4 years, performing at concerts and churches throughout the Chicagoland area. I love all kinds of music, although my favorites include indie rock, indie folk, alternative pop, classical, and especially musical theater. I am looking forward to meeting you and learning about your specific musical interests and goals!

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
All students will spend time on vocal warm-ups to begin with. I have found over the years that some warm ups work best for different people, and I want to make sure to give each student the proper warm-up before continuing on to the performance piece. Depending on age, I will also give instruction on vocal pedagogy. I want to make sure each student understands their instrument and can use that information to sing comfortably and without strain. Music can be assigned by me or chosen by the student.
