About Me

Hi, my name is Daniel, and I am a pianist and organist. I have been a student of music for over 20 years. My musical influences include a broad range of classical, folk, and pop music. My teaching style can best be described as friendly and focused. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I am committed to helping the student in making the progress that they desire. In my lessons, you can expect to learn a solid technical foundation and a rich sense of musicianship. I like to tell my students that "your progress is based on the effort you put into doing what I tell you to do." In short, if you do everything I tell you to do in your lessons, I guarantee that you will be able to play at your highest potential! My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students enjoy learning to play a piece better than they did before. My favorite performance was during the course of my master's degree in piano when I played the organ part to Dan Forrest's Requiem for the Living with my university's premier choir. I also performed a Beethoven piano concerto with my university's orchestra during my master's degree in piano. My students love that I am punctual, friendly, and am able to give clear instruction on how they can play better.
