I have played guitar since I was 8 years old. I'm male, age 47, but having kids from 4 up to 18 keeps me up with the times.

Guitar is my main instrument, although I do play a bit of piano, banjo and mandolin.

My main focus is getting the student started off learning something he or she really wants to play. We listen to it, break it down and simplify it, then play it.

I'm not someone who teaches a lot of music reading. I want my students to be proficient enough to figure out the key and the chords from printed sheet music. I don't teach sight reading as a rule, but am willing to if the student requests it.

I can teach intermediate to advanced blues and rock improvisation and bluegrass flatpicking.

I'm easy going, and try to make learning fun.
