My students should expect to be heard, to be motivated, and to have a great experience. I like to make lessons fun and having casual conversation in lessons are vital for the teacher and student to understand eachother. Of coarse you don’t want to be talking the whole time but I strongly believe in resting as much as you play. Most trumpeters will know that playing for long amounts of time can make your face hurt; its very important to rest as much as you play and make your practice worth the practice! My students will learn how to have a consistent warmup routine, be educated on many different technical studies, and how to effectively practice-especially for literature. I can’t wait for more students to come my way to help them grow as a trumpeter and a musician, and ultimately-a happier more enriched person! I believe music can make you happy, you just need to use healthy methods. And of coarse, I can’t wait to lead my students to success.
