About Me

Hi, my name is Tori and I am a musician and performer from North Carolina. I have been a student of music for 20 years, and teaching for 7. My musical influences include the Musical Theatre greats and I also enjoy Yanni. My teaching style can best be described as fun, steady, and interesting. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I will challenge you to be the best you can be. In my lessons, you can expect to learn technique as well as music theory. I like to tell my students "there's nothing you can't do." My favorite thing about teaching is growth. My favorite performance was as Eve/Mama Noah in Children of Eden. My students love that I am a professional musical theatre performer/singer. I primarily teach voice for musical theatre, but I can also teach classic vocal technique. I also teach piano for youngsters 4-12 or beginners of all ages. My approach as a teacher is to push you, and help you to acomplsh things you never thought you could. What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner -

I am very patient with new pianists and I will teach you how to read music, identify notes on the page and the piano, how to perform a piano piece, including proper posture and hand placement, and I use official piano books for each student that they will get to keep to practice at home.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

I specialize in vocal lessons for theatre performers, but I also teach all styles. I also can focus on audition prep, and all of my students will get an audition/performance portfolio full of the songs we learn and be taught audition techniques. I teach music theory, including reading music, in all of my lessons.
