Hi, my name is Jordan and I am a drummer from Edmond, Oklahoma. I have been a student of music for 10 years. I am currently almost done with my Bachelors degree, and I have an Associates in Music Performance as well! My musical influences include Progressive rock and I also enjoy Jazz, Latin and anything in between! My teaching style can best be described as patient and well thought out with understandings that everyone has different earning curves. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the basics and intermediate fundamentals of drumming as well as some advanced concepts! If the student is comfortable around the kit, we can start learning songs from their favorite band, going in depth and showing students how the drummer wrote the parts that they did and why. This can help students apply their own parts if they ever join a band! I like to tell my students to relax and have fun, letting them know that practice on their own time will help immensely! My favorite thing about teaching is the happiness students have when they nail a part they have been practicing for so long, seeing them light up with joy. The satisfaction of knowing all the hard work that was put in is all I can ask for! My students love that I never get frustrated and accommodate each individual appropriately based on their skill and learning levels, and that I am always in a happy mood. I primarily teach the basics of almost every genre, but I can also teach odd times, polyrhythms, sheet reading music basics and the ability to teach any song the student requests. My approach as a teacher is to understand the students goals and aspirations. This gives me a greater understanding of what needs to be taught. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
