Joe began playing guitar at the age of 15 after studying violin and trumpet. He later moved on to bass guitar and found a true foothold in playing the double bass. After studying for several years and developing his classical technique, he decided to study Jazz. He had been playing electric bass with friends in original bands and was beginning to develop some ideas about songwrititng. He received a scholarship to attend Depaul University where he graduated with a Bachelors in music performance Jazz studies. He has played around Chicago in several original projects as well as in cover bands and jazz groups. He later returned to St. Louis and is currently teaching there. He can teach a range of styles including classical, blues, jazz, and pop. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Joe can help you expand and enhance your playing.
