He began playing guitar at the age of 10 and continued his education by teaching and completing his music degree at Grossmont College, now at San Diego State University to further his music knowledge. His musical influences include all genres. Tyler's favorite thing about music is the therapy it brings to each person as they perform and positive influence it brings to the soul and his favorite thing about teaching music is the progress of improvement and the success of completing their desired musical goals. One of his favorite teaching experiences was starting a guitar program at the San Diego Braille Institute thus teaching 2 group classes per week with the visually impaired.
