My name is Walter and I am a recent graduate from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville with a BA in Music and a focus on piano performance and composition. I have been playing piano for about 12 years and was mostly self-taught before I came to college. I secured a music scholarship before my senior year at GCSU and won the concerto competition that same year, performing a piano concerto with the wind symphony.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Lessons with me are open-ended and not stressful, and students may choose their own music and learn at any pace. Beginners learn the fundamentals of music theory and piano technique while performing simplistic versions of their favorite songs (if no sheet music is available, or it is too complicated, I will transcribe or simplify the piece). Music is enjoyable, and understanding it can help people to more deeply appreciate art as a whole and develop more robust opinions of the music they hear every day.
Formal Education:
BA in Music from Georgia College and State University
Private Education:
Private piano Lessons for around 6 years, including time with Dr. Mark Laughlin at Georgia College and State University
Performing Experience:
Performing freelance for 5 years. Pianist for the GCSU jazz band and the GCSU wind symphony for four years.
Experience Teaching:
Been teaching privately for about a year and have been tutoring college music students my last two years at GCSU.
