About Me

Hello, I perform and teach drumset in and around Nashville Tennessee. A little bit about my background: I started banging on pots, pans, furniture; anything to create a rhythm, when I was very young. Thankfully, my parents bought me my first drumset when I was fifteen, started I could go get some lessons. Shortly after I started a local band with some friends. We played parties and practiced in a chicken coup we converted into a band room. From there we started playing clubs and I began my musical journey. Over the course, of these thirty years; performing in bands and fifteen years teaching privately, I can say there is not much that I have not seen or experienced on stage or in a practice room. I have had the honor and privilege of performing and studying with great musicians. Each experience, coupled with my desire to practice and improve day after day, has greatly enhanced my insight and effectiveness as a teacher and as a musician. Of course, learning and progress never end, if you are lucky. I have a passion for and enjoy very much assisting developing drummers overcome obstacles on their path to grow as musicians. I hope to see you in the studio.

What to expect in my Drum Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Each lesson is tailored for each student, taking into account their goals, weekly progress, and available practice time. Students will learn how to streamline their practice time to fit their needs and daily schedule. We will draw from a wide range of resources-recordings, method books, and so on-always striving toward a high degree of musicianship. Also re-enforcing the idea that music is a form of self-expression and is an art form with plenty of room to be yourself. Through patience and persistence, the student will discover the joy of communicating musically. Lessons may include music theory, metronome studies, sight reading, and guidance how to avoid injury.

Performing Experience:

Cincinnati OH-Played with various pop and blues bands at venues and festivals in the tri-state. Recorded with local artists. As a member of the Cincinnati Blues Society, hosted open mics at various venues and played the blues circuit. Buffalo NY-Performed with pop-rock cover bands, and country artists. Recorded with local metal band touring mid-west. Daytona Beach FL-Worked with original and cover artists. Currently, Living in Nashville, performing and teaching.
